This vacancy is located in the Finance and Facilities Management Division.
This position manages and reports on the department's accounts receivable system and is the back-up for the grants and contracts area. The person in this position works in accordance with the law and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), as well as with established policies and procedures of the Department of Administration (ADMIN), MN-IT Services and the Department of Management & Budget (MMB).
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or closely related;
Associate Degree in Accounting or closely related field PLUS 1 year of accounting, contract/grant accounting or closely related experience
Two years of accounting, contract/grant accounting or closely related experience
Knowledge of generally-accepted accounting principles and practices, budgeting principles, and statewide (or comparable) accounting systems.
Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities at the same time, and able to meet strict deadlines.
Budget terminology and principles sufficient to assist in preparing a grant or contract budget.
Ability to prepare and interpret complex fiscal reports.
Ability to interpret federal and state laws and departmental fiscal policies.
Experience with Microsoft tools such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Detail oriented and flexible with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain a consistent, high quality, customer-focused orientation.
Commitment to working effectively in a fast paced environment with changing priorities, and providing thorough, complete and quality results.
Experience with SWIFT.
Previous experience working with grants and contracts.
Previous experience with SWIFT Accounts Receivable module.
Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
Knowledge of statewide accounting systems sufficient to compile, analyze, and interpret fiscal information for use by management.
Use Excel and Crystal to gather and compile data.
Prepare and interpret complex fiscal reports and records.
Interpret federal and state laws and departmental fiscal policies.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with management, other staff and auditors.
