This position is located in the Injury and Violence Prevention Unit (IVPU) of the Center for Health Promotion (CHP) Section within the Health Promotion and Chronic Disease (HPCD) Division.
This position will coordinate, administer and support the Safe Harbor / No Wrong Door programming to deliver services to sexually exploited youth in Minnesota. The incumbent will manage and coordinate activities to further Safe Harbor / No Wrong Door's nation-leading initiatives to identify commercially sexually exploited youth and ensure access to appropriate trauma-informed, culturally specific services to intervene and ultimately prevent the exploitation of youth.
This position establishes program goals and objectives, monitors the organization's compliance and evaluates policies and procedures for program administration of funding streams for Safe Harbor programming. The incumbent will coordinate and administer information sharing, training and technical assistance to advance state goals and objectives for the intervention and prevention of commercial sexual exploitation.
Bachelor's degree in public health, social work, administration, or related field.
One year of professional experience working with sexual exploitation of minors which includes working closely with law enforcement and juvenile justice systems, or an understanding as to how these systems function.
Experience and knowledge of grants and administration principles, procedures, techniques and applicable state and federal rules and guidelines.
Ability to work collaboratively to set program goals and objectives, and to develop and monitor program budgets.
Experience with presenting and summarizing ideas effectively, orally, and in writing.
Knowledge of Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) functions, policies, procedures, and organizational practices and Minnesota's local public health system.
Knowledge of violence prevention concepts and methods, and of public health education and promotion principles.
Experience with leading focus group discussions.
Graduate degree in public health, social sciences or law.
